On July 24, at the Tama City Hall, the much-anticipated unveiling of the “Tama City VR360 Virtual Tour” took place during a press conference. Representatives Samuel Yuen and Rachel Leng from SeiRogai demonstrated the new virtual experience to Mayor Hiroyuki Abe of Tama City, city officials, and esteemed members of the press.
Mayor Abe shared his valuable insights and feedback on the VR tour experience:
“This tour is different from traditional tourism promotions. It offers an interactive experience that not only showcases Tama City but also enriches visitors’ understanding of Japanese culture and history. It’s a truly unique sightseeing guide that you won’t find anywhere else. For international visitors to Japan, this guide provides more than just a tour of popular spots like Sanrio Puroland (the Hello Kitty theme park). [You can] explore Tama Center, … visit museums, art galleries, and parks [in] Tama New Town, and immerse yourself in the vibrant culture and daily life that the video highlights.”
The event was well-attended by numerous journalists and media personnel, who showed great interest and posed insightful questions about our initiative. We are deeply grateful for their enthusiastic coverage. Participants included major media outlets such as Yomiuri Newspaper, Nikkei Newspaper, Kyodo News, Tokyo Newspaper, Asahi Newspaper, Tama TV, Metropolitan Government News, and Jichi Tsushin (Local Government News).
