Project Background and Objectives

Commissioned by MediaBank, a Japan-based digital payment and platform provider, in collaboration with the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO), the project aimed to support their business expansion by reaching international audiences and acquiring new customer bases for their digital wallet services. Through strategic media production and marketing, Mediabank wanted to promote their travel and ticketing solutions in both Japan and overseas, with a strong emphasis on key Southeast Asian markets, including Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Hong Kong.

Mediabank and JNTO set out to produce a large volume of professionally produced promotional video content showcasing Japan’s regional destinations. This included 60-90 second commercials, short documentaries, and video blogs, all within a tight production timeline of just a few months from planning through delivery.

Project Execution

In collaboration with Mediabank and JNTO, SeiRogai created a series of promotional content to showcase lesser-known attractions, designed to reach a wide range of Southeast Asian travellers interested in visiting Japan. The campaign features scenic landscapes, including Awaji Island (Hyogo Prefecture), Nagasaki Prefecture, Hokkaido, and Aso (Kumamoto Prefecture).

SeiRogai worked closely with its partners’ specific organizational needs, adapting technologies to local markets, including integration with overseas payment platforms and mobile app-based content distribution. The completed content was distributed not only on the Mediabank/JNTO official website, but also across popular Southeast Asian super apps like WeChat Pay, Alipay, and Grab. Additionally, it was prominently featured in subway advertisements, creating a comprehensive 360-degree promotional campaign that seamlessly integrated both online and offline channels.

  • The videos resonated with international audiences across Asia, reaching over 7 million people within a month-long campaign.
