“Fuchu City Virtual Reality 360° Tour” Prototype Unveiled to the Mayor of Fuchu City

SeiRogai, Inc. CEO & Producer Samuel Yuen and COO Rachel Leng visited Fuchu City and presented the prototype of the “Fuchu City VR 360° Tour” to the Mayor of Fuchu City, Norio Takano, and Fuchu City Hall government representatives. The project is a virtual tour centered on one of Fuchu City’s main attractions, the Okunitama “Jinja,” or Shinto Shrine. The first tour will be available on the digital transformation (DX) platform Global Virtual Travel in early February. The aim of this project is to not only help revitalize the local community of Fuchu City but also to replicate the unique charms and beauty of Fuchu City to tourists in Japan and individuals abroad, who can now experience the city as if they were there themselves.

We would like to share with you some valuable feedback from Mayor Takano of Fuchu City on the production of our VR tour.

“I am very pleased to see the innovative and fascinating virtual tour of Fuchu City using the latest VR360 filming technology. The VR tour content is very attractive, as it allows visitors to explore Fuchu City from a foreigner’s perspective and effectively explain its history, culture, and local community to an international audience. We look forward to seeing the virtual tour online on [SeiRogai’s] digital platform. Fuchu City will continue to collaborate with various entities to further promote the charms of Fuchu City both domestically and internationally.”

– Mayor Takano of Fuchu City

The Significance and History of Fuchu City and the Okunitama Jinja

Known as The Mystery City,” Fuchu City has long remained one of Japan’s best kept secrets. Through this project, however, SeiRogai is taking a big step to bridge this divide and demonstrate the many wonderful attractions of Fuchu City to the rest of the world. Fuchu City is located in Tokyo, and it is typically known for its historical significance as a post on the Koshu Kaido road, which was one of the five main routes during the Edo period.

Currently, the city serves as the home to a plethora of museums, shrines, markets, temples and two of Japan’s top league rugby teams, making it a lively city with a rich history to explore. Okunitama Jinja, in particular, is a special and noteworthy travel destination in Fuchu City, as it is nearly 2000 years old, making it one of Tokyo’s oldest shrines. It is also one of the most visited shrines, with thousands of people coming to celebrate the Kurayami festival, the Chestnut festival, and New Year’s. It is widely worshiped as a shrine to Ōkuninushi-no-Kami, the God of the Earth, as well as several other deities as well.

Reviews of SeiRogai’s Fuchu City VR 360° Tour

Here are some of the comments and feedback received from various parties involved in this project with Fuchu City.

“I have lived in Fuchu City for a long time, but this virtual tour allowed me to experience places I have never been before. The tour not only showed us the scenery, but also provided storytelling and educational value. It gave us a new perspective from a foreign standpoint and made us realize the value and importance of hiring experts in filmmaking and education. I was truly impressed by the quality of the VR tour, which is the result of Hollywood-level storytelling and Harvard-level research and education.”

“As a resident of Fuchu City, I rediscovered the places I pass by every day from a different perspective and found new value and joy in them.”

“Initially, I thought the 7-minute VR tour would be too long. However, when I actually experienced it, I was instantly drawn in by its cinematic storytelling, new and interesting knowledge, and educational nature. The 360-degree images and VR format were innovative and interesting, and I could enjoy different scenes each time, so I never got bored even if I experienced it many times.”

“The 360-degree images and VR format are innovative and interesting, and the different scenes can be enjoyed every time, so I never get bored even if I experience it again and again. It was so realistic that it will surely make many people want to experience Fuchu City in VR and visit the city in person in the future.”

“I was impressed by the advanced technology used and the high quality produced by SeiRogai, a company that transcends barriers to valuable places that are not usually open to the public and communicates the attractions to many people through new media and digital platforms.”

SeiRogai Pioneering the Future of Global Virtual Travel

Mayor Takano of Fuchu City and the individual in charge of this VR tour production commented that they look forward to SeiRogai’s VR tour contributing to the improvement of the image of the region and furthermore, to show the rich history and culture of Fuchu City to the world.
