On March 5, 2025, the Singapore Global Network (SGN) hosted its inaugural International Women’s Day event at the Andaz Hotel in Tokyo, bringing together distinguished Singaporean women who have made a global impact across a range of industries. SGN, a global community committed to connecting Singaporeans and friends of Singapore around the world, plays a vital role in fostering meaningful relationships and opportunities across borders. Ms. Rachel Leng, Co-Founder and COO of SeiRogai, Inc., hosted and moderated the panel discussion, facilitating a conversation on leadership, innovation, and cross-cultural influence.

The event was opened by Ms. Li Lin Liew, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of the Republic of Singapore in Tokyo, who assumed the position in January 2025. She delivered inspiring remarks, drawing on her extensive contributions to international relations and leadership.

As the evening progressed, Ms. Leng welcomed a distinguished audience of professionals, entrepreneurs, and community leaders. Fluent in both English and Japanese, she set the stage with a warm bilingual introduction, highlighting the event’s theme: “From Singapore to the World: Women Driving Change Across Borders.” This theme resonated strongly with SeiRogai’s mission to promote global storytelling and cross-cultural exchange—values that Ms. Leng actively champions through her company’s work in media technology, film production, and business consultancy.
Ms. Leng’s role extended beyond that of host, as her thoughtful introductions and adept facilitation of discussions allowed the panelists to engage in meaningful dialogue. The conversation focused on their experiences navigating international careers while maintaining strong connections to their Singaporean roots. The panel included Ms. Sandra Teh (Chief Culture Evangelist, AWS), Dr. Aw Wanping (Founder, TokudAw and Project Assistant Professor, Keio University), Ms. Ciel Liu (News Correspondent, Phoenix Satellite TV), and Ms. Sophie Biswas (Finance & Compliance Professional, PEEL Lab Advisor). Each panelist shared invaluable insights on leadership, resilience, and the challenges faced in global industries.

As a Singaporean entrepreneur in Japan, Ms. Leng shared her journey of building SeiRogai, Inc., reflecting on how her multicultural experiences—from studying in the U.S. to working in private equity in Japan and policy analysis in South Korea—have shaped her approach to business and innovation. Her insights resonated deeply with the audience, emphasizing the importance of adaptability and cross-cultural engagement.

Beyond moderating the discussion, Ms. Leng emphasized the critical role of global networks, such as the Singapore Global Network (SGN), in fostering connections and providing support for Singaporeans abroad. She encouraged attendees to actively engage with SGN and leverage its resources to cultivate meaningful professional relationships across borders.
The event concluded with Ms. Leng introducing Mr. Ho Koi Foong, Regional Director (Northeast Asia) of the Singapore Global Network, who delivered the closing remarks. As the evening shifted to a networking session, Ms. Leng continued to engage with attendees, strengthening connections between Singaporean professionals and the international community in Tokyo.

Ms. Leng not only exemplified the power of Singaporean women on the global stage but also reinforced SeiRogai, Inc.’s commitment to fostering cross-cultural dialogue, storytelling, and business innovation. Her presence at the event underscored SeiRogai’s growing influence in the international arena, positioning the company as a key player in media technology and cross-border business development.
